Preface:

I started writing this page in the days before the terrorist attacks of 911. At that time it was a thesis regarding the ever-escalating battle between Christians and Pagans. I thought at that time that this was a subject of growing concern and in need of addressing. Now it seems to pale in comparison to the battle that looms before us in the world today. Upon looking it all over again though, it does still seem to be applicable, yet in an even broader sense than it was meant to. The attitude of conquest and aggression that the Christian church has developed and continues to adhere to is every bit as much of this current situation as anything else is.

Most of the personal opinions of criticism I have expressed in this website have been in relation to the false ways we have been trained to think and feel. Some of my feelings are clearly Christian based. Some are obviously pagan, and may even seem anti-Christian to many. My point though has not been to support or antagonise any particular group or faction

of Angels and Devils

The Witch hunts have been over for almost 400 years now, or are they? If you should ever take the time to watch some of the Christian broadcasts on television, it kind of makes me wonder. (I don’t watch much TV so I don’t subscribe to cable. This means whenever I turn it on I am limited to whatever signals my little set can pull off of the airwaves. Needless to say, I can only tune in about 6 stations. Of these, 4 of them are Christian channels!) I watch them occasionally to see what is new and usually get a good laugh. Well it isn’t really very funny I suppose, to witness how far away the churches have gone from the truth. As I listen to these fools in their expensive suits and outrageous sets I become very concerned. Apart from the constant begging for money, (which is irritating enough,) this idea they are preaching that they can somehow wipe the Devil from the face of the Earth is quite frightening. This religion which bases it’s principles on Love, Kindness, Charity, Forgiveness, and Peace among all the whole family of God’s children has become extremely prejudice and aggressive in its materialistic battle against Evil. Since the personification of this evil does not have a face they can really see, they are attacking people still.

No, it is not like this is anything new for them at all. The Christians have fought with everybody at one time or another. They are full of fight and full of fire for the Lord. They always have been. While their battles have been responsible for the deaths of thousands of Muslims and millions of Jews, they are also responsible for the oppression, torture, persecution, and murder of untold numbers of Pagans. Entire races and nations of peoples the world over have been destroyed in their quest for the material kingdom of Heaven on Earth. The North American Native nations have been reduced to but a few who carry the names of the once great tribes. In South America the Aztecs, Incas, and others have been virtually annihilated by the Christians. And these are only the few I have read about as being history in my part of the world.

Are we to believe that all these people were evil? Well of course they weren’t! They were guilty of being different. To a Christian, the most important thing is the following of the way of Jesus Christ. But let it be very clearly understood that this "way" is not necessarily in the teachings of Jesus as much as it is in the interpretation of it. Beyond the basic idea of accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, it gets much more complicated. Depending upon what particular faction, denomination, or sect you accept as your personal family in Christ, they all have different ideas and rules about what it means to be a Christian. These variations of interpretations are the means by which you will judge others to be good or evil. They are so picky about even the finest debatable points that they have more often than not turned against each other. They not only point the finger and call everyone who is not a Christian evil, they attack each other as well.

So they want to fight. They want to burn and murder and drive the evil Devil Satan out of the world forever. The fools call upon the sheep to don the mighty armor of the spirit of God and take up the great sword of the Word! Fight the Devil wherever he is found and drive him back to his hole, then burn him out or bury him forever more! Amen! But they are not the only ones fighting. They are being resisted wherever they go. This resistance only seems to make them more determined to fight harder.

The world has changed and they don’t like it at all, even though it is the world they have made. They have tried to force their spiritual kingdom upon a material reality. In so doing they have themselves become material in their goals. The laws they make to protect themselves are also there to protect their enemies. Whereas in times past the local priest might condemn some woman as a witch, for mixing an herbal remedy for illness, and have the mob burn her at the stake, that just isn’t done anymore. We don’t have to attend your damned church if we don’t want to. We don’t have to believe your lies and misrepresentations of the truth. We don’t have to give our money to your churches to buy you fine clothes and decorate your idols with gold. All of these new ways, of course, unnerve them to no end.

The Pagans have returned! The ancient Mother Earth religions that led our species to prosperity for centuries have risen from the ashes. Had the Christians remained as a Spiritual force in the world rather than sought material and political domination as well, perhaps things would have been different. They weren’t satisfied with what belongs to GOD but wanted what belongs to GODDESS too. It was a battle that might have been fought only in Heaven, the old argument between He and She. Now it has been brought to Earth and it is up to us to solve it.

the Battle

Ah - the Great time so long ago it seems now. That brilliant memory of aeons past - Like a distant shining point of starlight that rushes at the senses once recalled to view.

The great time when we children sat in wonder and contemplation of the universe becoming beneath us.

The great time of stillness and silent reflection. When light and darkness mingled as one and became all. Liquid galaxies of fluid energy and chaotic light to blind the eyes. Moving against and with - upon and within each other in living divine unity.

Thence forth did we arise to behold mother and father divine. and in that will of oneness become all that would ever be - or so it seemed.

Before the separation. before the conflict...

Each did then come unto us in turn, bestowing their eternal blessings upon us. Told us they did of the necessity of division - that without such difference there could be no life for it is in the attraction of opposites that doth make all things to move.

What was not known was of the impending disaster that was to ensue. That lines would be drawn and allegiances made one against the other..
A fierce battle was looming, for in the separation came adversity and animosity. She would curse and spite him, and he would cast her aside into damnation.

And then did they make appeals unto us - the children - that we should side with but one. Brother and sister did begin to quarrel and debate concerning this certain division of that which had created us. No more would we know of the one source that brought us henceforth - but as two.

In those times did brother divide from brother - sister divided from sister. No more would we exist as one family but as two - with each sworn to the annihilation of the other.

Throughout the course of time, there have been many battles and many different faces of the enemy. As we moved out across the frontiers of this beautiful planet, taming new lands and even the planet itself, the battle has continued to this day. Many different families, many different tribes and cultures, great nations and traditions, each with their own ideas and beliefs. Yet it is this most ancient and original of conflicts that incites and continues every dispute to this day.

the Differences

In America, the contenders in this battle are very old enemies indeed. One side calls themselves "Christian" and the other calls themselves "Pagan".

The Christians believe themselves to be the Good guys, fighting for the Almighty Lord and Creator. This description is confusing as it is applied alternatively to GOD and also to the material embodiment of GOD as Jesus Christ, hence the name Christian. Christianity is a very masculine faith in every respect but in the actual teachings of Jesus. The fact that this group takes their name from Jesus Christ would lead most to believe it is his teachings they follow, but this is not the case. His teachings were very clear that we should have love for each other beyond everything else. His was not to be a kingdom upon the Earth but quite the opposite. All of this was, unfortunately, twisted and corrupted to suit the needs of man. The tenets of the faith, however, include a high moral code of conduct that is central to Salvation. Not only must the Christian themselves conform to this code, but they feel it is essential to impose it upon everyone else. Where Christians throughout history have gone to battle against the ungodly, more often than not they find themselves fighting other Christians whose beliefs differ slightly.

The Pagans are far less simple to define than their adversaries. The name "Pagan" was first applied by the Romans, who used it to describe heathens, or common folk, who did not conform to the religion of Rome. The word used to mean lack of religion, or irreligious. Now the definition has been expanded to include any people that are not of the Christian, Jewish, or Muslim faiths. Those who refer to themselves as Pagan say they have no defined faith. They claim to accept all people of all ways and beliefs. Essentially, if you are a Pagan then it is up to you personally to chose what Gods and Goddesses are important to you and also how you want to worship them. Paganism is thus a do it yourself religion, where you can pick from countless deities and ceremonies. While Paganism really has no definition beyond this, and no central organization whatsoever, there is one common factor to be found in nearly every Pagan follower: This is an almost universal acceptance of the GODDESS as supreme, rather than GOD.

Paganism is growing rapidly throughout the world, and it is the inherent femininity that drives this growth. Not only are people falling away from Christianity in droves, but there is growing concern for the planet itself, which the GODDESS represents. The Christian tradition of fighting and killing and constantly attempting to drive the evil out of wherever it lives is seen by many as ridiculous. The Christians are not concerned about pollution and the health of the planetary ecosystems. They are not about to give up their destructive and toxic electrical power plants. They are not about to walk away from their shining cities and highways. They want to live longer and wealthier and easier than they ever did because GOD has promised them this. But people are getting back to nature and finding the GODDESS again. They are finding out about the old ways that worked for thousands of years when humanity was still in balance with the natural world. So inevitably, they are coming into direct confrontation with the Christians.

While the Christians claim love for all and pray for peace and harmony throughout the world, they continue to carry the sword. While envisioning the one big happy family of humanity under GOD, they still have a sworn duty to fight evil. They do not love and heal but fight and injure, and for a cause of belief that they themselves cannot live up to. It is no wonder they are hated and despised by the Pagans.

But then the Pagans are far from being open and accepting of others as they claim to be. As if their mere presence was not enough, they deliberately antagonize and agitate Christians by whatever means possible. While standing tall in the glory of balance among all things, they seek further confrontation rather than the peaceful settlement of this battle. It is not good enough for GODDESS to rise unto her former place as an equal to GOD. Now they feel she must be the conqueror.

the Solution

Perhaps everything that was prophesized was meant to be and there is nothing we can do to stop it. Relax! Sit back and grab your bottle. Maybe it’s a bottle of Valium, Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, or maybe it’s Chevas Regal, Jack Daniels, or Budweiser. Turn on your television and don’t say the wrong thing or you’ll likely end up in prison. Besides, aren't all these wonderful things we have in America worth selling your soul for?

Maybe by now I have everyone wondering whose side I am on. Am I a Christian or a Pagan? Well that's just fine with me anymore. I can't say that I have much respect for either. Has anyone ever stopped to think about what it means to take sides anyway? What is it that tells us we must be classified in some way and be known as part of a particular group? Is it really an easy means by which to identify ourselves and others? Does being a Christian mean you always follow Jesus and live the way he recommended? Does being a Pagan mean you do not believe in God? Well I try and judge each person for who they are. It doesn't always work, as I am a human being too, and prone to the same sort of mental mechanisms. I try to keep from judging people because of the category they place themselves in, but I often fail to maintain this idea. Even so, there is a difference in judging people from the things they choose for themselves and the things they cannot change. If, for some reason I don't like you, it is because you are either an idiot or an asshole. It doesn't have anything to do with race, color, culture, or language.

Still we have this compelling urge to classify everyone, including ourselves. I find in talking to people these classifications really become rather obsolete. We have these hardcore beliefs and ideas that we are so certain of that we are willing to put ourselves in this group or that. But really there are so many qualifications and limitations in doing so that it becomes far too complex. I don't want to list any examples so as not to offend or pick on anyone, but talk to any of them and you will find there are exceptions always. If you don't find any exceptions, then you are talking to a mindless, brainwashed drone who is best left alone.

This current conflict that those in power want to publically bill as a war between "Freedom and Oppression" really is just a war of greed as it always has been. When Christendom originally sent knights to battle the Muslims in the middle ages it was more about wealth than it was religion. It was just a thorn in their side to see so much "devotion" going into mosques for Allah instead of coming to Rome. War has always been more about selfish interests of the few, domination, control, power, and greed, than it has ever been about faith, philosophy, or ideology. This "Holy war" between Christians and Muslims is no different than it ever has been in that respect. They may not have the great riches they once had to show off, but they still have the OIL.

What it boils down to is still the same as the conflict that inspired me to start writing this in the first place. The war of opposites: Left and Right. Up and Down. Givers and Takers. Lovers and Haters. Selfless and Selfish. Dark and Light. Good and Evil. God and Goddess. Male and Female. Well we just can't survive a war of this nature in these times. It will come to the last opposite: Life and Death.

We cannot side or choose between Mother and Father. We can only hope to solve this through KNOWLEDGE and UNDERSTANDING. There is no solution to find these but BALANCE, and that can only be found by COMMUNICATION. To hear little Georgie Junior say he doesn't want or need to talk is disgusting to me. But then, after all he is not the Father but the Son. Making the New Order in his own image.
