The Secret Ancient Wisdom

Catchy title isn’t it? Those who have spent any time at all searching for books about arcane knowledge, mysticism, occult, metaphysics, and the like have most likely seen hundreds of writings purported to be or contain just that:

Secret Ancient Wisdom. Secret Wisdom. Ancient Secrets. Ancient Wisdom.
Always some form of these words, or containing them.

With the internet of course, the number of written works is multiplied in great exponents. Now anyone can be an author and publish all their works for everyone to see. Select the right keywords and millions of people with net access can read what we have written.

This author is no different than any other in that respect. My work is published only on the net. I have never had the money to publish it myself, and even if I did I couldn’t have hardly hoped to reach as many people. A lot of these web-based manuscripts have been read by more people than most of the published ones. Yet, as it was before the computer age, most of it is still garbage.

The real Secret is all around us. A gem can be found anywhere you choose to look. You can find them looking at a tree, or watching the rain fall into a river. You can also find them by noticing the lamp on a table and following the cord to where it plugs into the wall, or even just staring up into the corner of a room.
There is more to everything than meets the eye; the relationship, a balance, a pattern, a design. When you see something and also what is behind it, it strikes a harmony within. There is something there, and if you can describe it, then you are well on your way to writing your own book of ancient wisdom.
As we too are both seen and unseen in reality, it connects you and you feel it. You know then you have found a gem, and part of the secret.

It has a sort of religious significance also, as it is something bigger than ourselves we feel connected to.
In times past, those who were confounded by the mysteries of life and reality were drawn to pursue it along religious paths.
This is still true today in many ways. Many people have, and will, continue to ponder the explanations of the mysteries in the Bible. When they understand and feel the connection they are fulfilled in spirit and see themselves as part of the greater reality beyond the simple individual they were.
Likewise, many people find the same sensation sitting by the ocean, or in a deep forest. Watching how it all interacts and functions together perfectly with such random precision that could only be maintained by a higher power than us.
There are many other paths as well. You might find the mysteries revealed to you in a way that you can finally understand in many books and many religious orders. It is but the same truth that is expressed in many ways.
Whether it be Pagan, Taoist, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, or Muslim writings, there are gems within that can open your soul and expand your consciousness. This is true of many other works that do not have a religious following.

The greatest, (and only) danger in following any particular religious order is that they have mostly all become material and political institutions.
As with most of the secret ancient wisdom books you will find out there; they contain a few gems and a lot of rubbish built up under them.
They are like pyramids with the gems shining as capstones, and a human contrived philosophy and way of life supporting them.
Sometimes the human element is just impure; only a grounding for the truth to bring it down to the material world.
Sometimes this added human element is outright dangerous; declaring all who do not follow to be enemies. This same structure can also be seen in the many sub-elements, sects, orders, and cults that proliferate in the world and on the internet.
Whereas the philosophy and way of life has been slowly corrupted and programmed over a long period of time when it comes to the great churches, the same effect can be produced with brainwashing in a much shorter time.
Many people all fall into these tiny groups simply because they have a need and know the religions of their elders are false.

In conclusion, my suggestion is to never stop searching for the secrets because they will never all be found. Be skeptical of anything that claims to be truth. If you can't feel it for yourself then keep looking, because someone else's truth will never take you where you need to go.
